Baby Update
James is growing well. Suzanne says he lost some weight in the beginning as all babies do; 9 lb 8 oz (birth 9 lb 13 oz). On her return visit to the Doc he was 10 lb 2 oz. She wrote that he's still eating about every 1 1/2 hours 24 hours a day.

However, James is having some difficulties, and she and Jack would really appreciate our prayers. He's been choking sometimes during nursing, sometimes unrelated to food intake. The doctor believes he has reflux. This can happen to new borns and usually corrects itself, but with Jack and his father having similar problems she's concerned. In the meantime, I have to keep his head elevated, feed small amounts then burp often, I've also been told to cut down on my dairy consumption, which apparently has an affect on the frequency of James refluxing (according to studies).

Well that's it for now :)

Critter News- Continued....
Squall, Thunder, & Dudley At first I said no because if Alex's room was any indication of how he would care for a hampster... need I say more? Well, I guess I should tell you that Alex's room usually looks like a tornado swept through it, and then backed up. Top pic- Alex and Thunder, Bottom pic- Thunder the magnificent! However, after thinking about it I said yes. What changed my mind was the fact that at 12 years old there are only a few more years left before his interest in having a pet will be replaced with girls and hanging out. I mean pretty soon he'll be in high school and I don't think he'll be into the idea of taken care of a pet. I also thought that it would be a great way to teach him some responsibility in having to care for someone other than himself. I'm a happy Thunder Cloud When Alex brought Thunder home I immediantly fell for the little guy. Thunder's home sweet home Alex actually named him Thunder Cloud because he says he looks like a thunder cloud. Thunder is a long haired hampster and has the sweetest kindest disposition I've ever seen in a hampster From day one he's been very calm. and gentle, and he's so adorable. Alex really got lucky with this one. The only negative thing I can say about him is that whenever Alex has him out he manages to urinate on everything. Alex has run out of blankets and pants a few times now.
Squall at home Squall in his house Mikey, Ant, and Squall Mikey, Ant, and Squall
So, now you're probably wondering how it is that we went from letting Alex get a hampster to owning three. Top pic- Rob and Dudley, Bottom pic- Dudley on top of his home Well, after Alex brought Thunder home Michael went nuts and always wanted to hold him and play with him. Alex was getting upset because he never had any peace with him. So, I decided to let Mikey get a hampster of his own so that he would leave Al and Thunder alone. Dudley is his house While we were at the pet store picking out a hampster for Mikey Robert decided he wanted one too! Well, after all, how could I say no? Since their arrival Dudley has made a great escape and a frantic swim in the fishtank! I'll write more about that in another issue of Critter News. Aren't they adorable! Dudley is his house. He's always knocking off the roofI'm a very happy hampster (hiccup)
